Fire agate is a variety of Chalcedony. Discovered so far only in certain areas of Mexico and South-West United States, Fire Agate is a rare semi-precious natural gemstone. It is a translucent to reddish brown agate with a botryoidal habit. Fire Agate contains contain iridescent spheroids of limonite (iron), which can create beautiful flashes or a glowing effect of colours ranging from brownish-red and orange to blue and green.
