Lovely mini crystal ball / sphere of cheerful green Aventurine. Good colour consistency. Perfectly polished to a high shine. Great for crystal grids and collectors alike. Very Good to A Grade. Size approx 1.5-2cm. Weight approx 10g.

 

GEOLOGICAL:

Aventurine is a silicon dioxide mineral. It is a translucent Quartz crystal with inclusions of tiny flakes or specks of various minerals that give it a sparkly in the light. This sparkle is referred to as ‘aventurescence’. It was named in 1837 after the Italian word “a Ventura”, which means “by chance”.

Colour variances among the different inclusions are a result of the quantity, distribution and quality within the Quartz matrix. Green Aventurine is formed with tiny flakes of Fuchsite, a green Chromium-rich Mica.
