Geological:

Aventurine is a silicon dioxide mineral. It is translucent Quartz crystal with inclusions of tiny flakes or specks of various minerals that give it a sparkly in the light. This sparkle is referred to as ‘aventurescence’. Aventurine was named in 1837 after the Italian word “a Ventura”, which means “by chance”. Colour variances among the different inclusions are a result of the quantity, distribution and quality within the Quartz matrix. Hematite and Goethite can create a pink, orange, red or brown Aventurine.
