One of my favourite polished pieces of Shattuckite to pass my way. The patterning of the rivulets in the dramatic matrix is so captivating. Unique display piece! Lovely standing geometric cut and polished piece. From Southern Africa. Good to A Grade. Size approx 10cm. Weight approx 400g.

GEOLOGICAL:

Shattuckite is a rare copper silicate mineral highly regarded for its vivid blue colour. It was named in 1915 after the Shattuck Mine in Bisbee, Arizona where it was discovered. It can occur in massive granular form and also as fibrous acicular crystals.
