Mixed Multicolour Tourmaline Tumbled Stone. These mini tumbled stones are a mix of colours, from opaque black to translucent pink, green, brown, blue, yellow, red, clear and varying combinations in-between. Stunning high quality, mostly gemmy! Beautiful for gridding and for working with rare colours of Tourmaline. Very Good to A Grade.

Description

Mixed Multicolour Tourmaline Tumbled Stone. These mini tumbled stones are a mix of colours, from opaque black to translucent pink, green, brown, blue, yellow, red, clear and varying combinations in-between. Stunning high quality, mostly gemmy! Beautiful for gridding and for working with rare colours of Tourmaline. Very Good to A Grade.

GEOLOGICAL:

Tourmaline is the name for a group of crystalline boron silicate minerals. This mineral species was identified by mineralogists in the 1800s. Its name comes from mid 18th century French, based on Sinhalese “t?ramalli”. Tourmaline becomes electrically charged when heated (pyroelectric). It is also piezoelectric (creates electricity under pressure).

Tourmaline can be found occurring in more colours and colour combinations than any other gemstone in the world! Tourmaline’s colours have many different causes.
